Eh... personally I liked Stephen Colbert's routine. MUCH more controversial... albeit quite rude at times. He's not John Stewart on Crossfire, but the dude still has balls.
You tell an in-joke, the individuals who are in begin having a laugh, and the individuals who are not in on the laugh begin having a laugh too! All the while, they are thinking, and maybe even saying, "So that's Funny!" because they want to know why they are having a laugh.

BTW... props to Google Video for being able to host a 1 hour and 35 minute video. Colbert kicks in around minute 51.
