Venture Capital Investments: A Marketplace?

Jeff Hester's Web 2.0 logo madness post made me ask the obvious question which is, wouldn't it be cool if you could short venture capital investments? There are a ton of great companies out there. There are also lots of new communities and markets coming online with people that have strong opinions, and now many forums and ways to express those opinions online. There are online destinations for buying and selling sports players, online betting, and, of course, regular old stock trading. It would be great if you could play a (simulated) market of private company investments. I would never want to bet against an entrepreneur - it seems like bad karma. But whenever I go to a dinner with entrepreneurs I find that everyone has an opinion on the companies VC's have invested in. Why not provide a real outlet for this expression in the form if an online market where you could go short (or long) on VC investments in startups?
